SERVICE AS ACTION

Service as Action is a required component of the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) that supports Eagle Rock Junior Senior High School’s commitment to developing internationally minded students who recognize our common humanity and shared responsibility for the planet.

Service as Action can take many forms and includes four categories: Direct Service, Indirect Service, Advocacy, and Investigation. These categories provide students with different ways to connect their learning to real-world needs and take meaningful action.

During each academic year, students complete two Service as Action activities: one on campus and one off campus. These experiences help students develop skills, understand community needs, and build experiences that support their 10th-grade Personal Project.

Service as Action hours by  grade level: 7th, 8th, and 9th: 10 hours per school year
