Health Careers Academy

Foshay Health Careers Academy Vision

Students will graduate with in-demand knowledge and skills that will enable and empower them on their path to becoming tomorrow's biomedical science professionals (PLTW).

Foshay Health Careers Academy Mission

Empower students to thrive in an evolving world by developing and applying in-demand, transportable skills through the exploration of real-world challenges. Students not only learn technical skills, but also learn to solve problems, think critically and creatively, communicate, and collaborate to engage and solve real-world challenges (PLTW).

The Health Careers Academy started in 1997-98, so students could learn about a variety of careers in the health field, including working in social services, veterinary medicine and working with communities to maintain good mental, social, and physical health. Throughout their time in the academy students will learn CPR, medical terminology and other skills to help get a vocational job and prepare for college. Students interested in health, biology or helping others will benefit from selecting the Health Careers Academy.
