Dear BSAP Parents and Families,
As we enter February, I am excited to celebrate Black History Month 2026 with our incredible BSAP community. This year marks a historic milestone—the 100th anniversary of the very first organized Black history observance established by Dr. Carter G. Woodson. The national theme for 2026, “A Century of Black History Commemorations,” calls us to honor a century of dedicated work to preserve, uplift, and teach Black history. [adw.org], [regmednet.com]
Because of Black History Month and the legacy of those who fought to ensure our stories are recognized, we have programs like BSAP—programs intentionally designed to affirm, support, and celebrate our students, families, and cultural heritage. Our work stands on the foundation built by generations who believed in the importance of visibility, belonging, and empowerment within our communities.
Throughout this month, BSAP will continue to uplift our students and families by creating spaces where our heritage is celebrated, our stories are centered, and our voices are valued. We look forward to sharing events, resources, and opportunities for connection that honor our past while inspiring our future.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping ensure our students feel seen, supported, and empowered every single day.
With appreciation and pride,✊🏾
