Description: Join experts from Public Counsel for an informative and practical Parent Webinar designed to help families plan ahead and stay prepared. This session will introduce parents and caregivers to planning options and considerations related to their children during emergencies or unexpected situations. Participants will learn how to use the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Family Preparedness Care Package to begin outlining a plan and organizing important information for their family. The webinar will also cover key legal options, including the Caregiver’s Authorization Affidavit and Guardianship, so families understand what these tools are, how they work, and when they may be appropriate. In addition, parents will receive information about resources available to support families in their communities. This webinar offers practical information, an opportunity to ask questions, and guidance on next steps families may wish to consider.
