If you have an interest in finance and/or banking such as stock market trading or being a financial advisor with this course you will learn about financial services, financial products and their application, and finance in business. This qualification provides an enriching and detailed introduction to the world of finance, relating to real-life application while ensuring learning is assessed in a practical and applied manner
You will develop knowledge and appreciate the need for achieving personal financial goals, how and why borrowing and repaying money can impact decisions. You will need to consider both personal and small business banking, financial advice and the importance of budgeting. Ethical sustainability, business models, financial careers, principles of UK taxation and marketing are all significant in the world of finance. You will need to look closely at financial regulation, protection and the impact of debt on both the individual and the wider economy.
There are over 1.3 million people employed within the financial services sector. Post Brexit, the UK remains the world’s leading net exporter of financial services, generating an industry trade surplus of £68bn. Future entrepreneurs and business owners need to understand their financial situation and how to adapt to financial change and therefore these careers are very much sought after.
