Oaks Primary Academy Newsletter
5th May 2023
Dear Parents and Carers,
As this term races along, we have crammed as much learning and excitement into some shorter weeks that have been condensed due to the bank holidays. Please remember that we return to school on Tuesday 9th May following the King's Coronation bank holiday weekend.
We hit the ground running next week with the Key Stage 2 SATs tests, which the Year Sixes have prepared for admirably. We are very proud of all of their effort and dedication and want them to realise they really are an amazing group of individuals.
We head into the following week in which Year Two commence their SATs testing; they are all so passionate about their learning and we are very proud of how they approach every learning opportunity, well done!
This term is jampacked with trips, careers visitors, royal celebrations, workshops and so much more, the children really are loving their learning and their teachers are preparing so many engaging opportunities to fuel their desire to learn more and more every day.
Although my newsletter sections are largely celebratory and positive, sometimes I must remind us of expectations, please remember the following:
Please do not smoke nor vape around the perimeter of the school, it is not a behaviour I wish for the children of Oaks to be exposed to. The wait by the gates is a short period of time and if you feel the need, please remove yourself across the road where others are not forced to inhale smoke or vapour.
Children are required to come into school in black school shoes. I allowed the grace of last summer to buy school shoes and not spend money unneccessarily to finish the academic year, this reduced costs for all families. If this is an issue or school shoes have become too small, please speak to me in person. I would rather know and afford people the chance to buy school shoes when convenient rather than chase.
Mobile phones must not be used to make phonecalls on the school premises, this is a safeguarding issue and is against school policy.
To finish with a positive...
Attendance is through the roof! Each class has averaged above 91% across the past two terms. This is having a huge impact on learning and social development for all children. I can not stress how much this helps every child to reach their potential and enjoy their school life, thank you!
I hope you all enjoy the Coronation bank holiday weekend,
Mr Moore
