Thursday 17th August 2023
Students and families were delighted to celebrate their Level 3 outcomes today at The Halley Academy, a culmination of all their hard work and progress during their time with us in Sixth Form.
We had our largest cohort yet of Level 3 students, partaking in a wide range of different BTEC vocational qualifications.
We’re extremely proud to report that we achieved our best set of Level 3 results to date, with approximately 50% of all grades at the top level, Distinction and Distinction*. Our overall pass rate improved to over 98%. This is particularly impressive in the context of the last three years, given that this will have been our Year 13s first opportunity to sit external examinations since before the pandemic.
Notable Successes
At a student level, notable successes in the Hawking School Sixth Form were:
Ramandeep with D*D* in engineering and D* in business, who plans to go on and study digital marketing at Greenwich University following a gap year in employment.
Harry with D* in business and IB grades H7 in history, H6 in psychology, and S6 in maths. Harry plans to go on and study computer science at Nottingham University.
Inderveer with D*D in Engineering and D* in business who plans to go on and study accounting and finance at Queen Mary’s University of London.
Harry with D*D in Engineering and H6 in IB history. Harry has secured a degree apprenticeship with the Metropolitan Police.
We are also thrilled to announce that the majority of students achieved their first choice place through UCAS, with a number of students going onto local universities and competitive apprenticeship programmes.
These results follow a hugely successful IB Results Day earlier in July, where our IBCP students received the outcomes of their final end of Year 13 examinations. These results saw our students out performing international averages, a testament to all their hard work, talent and resilience.
We are extremely proud of all of the achievements of our students and recognise the efforts of our staff in supporting the students’ success. We wish all students the very best as they take their next steps.
