Strood Academy

Post-16 Results Day
Thursday 17th August 2023

Congratulations to all students in Year 13 who are celebrating their A level results at Strood Academy. Our students have shown the greatest determination, resilience and perseverance during their courses and achieved some extremely strong results. The well-deserved results now enable our students the choice and opportunity to progress onto the next stage of their education or career choice. We also take this moment to recognise the progress that our pupils have made as they have progressed into well-rounded citizens ready for the 21st century. This success has been achieved not only through the dedication of our students but also through the highly skilled teaching and learning which has been demonstrated throughout their courses. We take a moment to acknowledge and thank all staff at Strood Academy for their support in ensuring our students are best prepared for their next steps.

Students at Strood Academy, like those nationally, have seen a return to pre-pandemic standards for examination grading, with protection built into the process to recognise the disruption that students have faced. This means it is most helpful for schools, students and parents to compare grades awarded in 2023 to those in 2019 and not those in the intervening years which saw changes to examination papers to assist students with lost learning time during their key stage 4 or 5 study. Our Year 13 students at Strood Academy should therefore be very proud of their achievements this year in light of the return to full examinations and a more rigorous grading process.

Students have worked incredibly hard during the last two years preparing for a full set of examinations, which are the first formal examinations these students have taken due to the pandemic. We are proud of all our students and have seen excellent results, particularly in media studies, financial studies, sport, geography, and history.
