Getting Ready for the Next Chapter: Your Year 6 Induction Journey Starts Here!
We are thrilled to share the key transition moments that will mark the beginning of your child’s journey with us at Leigh Academy Hugh Christie — each one thoughtfully designed to build confidence, excitement and a true sense of belonging.
Please ensure your child brings a packed lunch, water bottle, and wears their primary school uniform on transition days.

Great way to start off your induction - meet the team, loads of questions and answers.
✅ Transition Day 1 – All Primary Schools
📅 Wednesday 17th June 2026
🕗 8:45am – 2:30pm
A full induction day for new Year 7 students.
✅ SEN Transition Day
📅 Thursday 2nd July 2026
🕗 8:45am – 3:00pm
This day is specifically for students with SEND and includes meetings with the SENCO,
📌 SEN Meetings Only
🕐 1:30pm – 3:00pm
Meetings are bookable on the school website, Parents may take their child home after their scheduled meeting if it finishes earlier.
✅ Transition Day 2 – All Primary Schools
📅 Tuesday 7th July 2026
🕗 8:45am – 2:30pm
Final transition day before the summer break.
✅ Transition Day 3 – first day of Module 1
📅 Tuesday 1st September 2026
🕗 8:25am – 3pm
first day - only year 7 and year 12 students will be attending the academy on this day to support students to get settled.
Dates will be available February 2027.
