Hello, my name is Miss Stevens and I teach maths at the Halley Academy. Similar to you, I am relatively new to the school as I only joined last year. After just a few weeks, once I had worked out room numbers and stopped getting lost, I found myself completely welcomed and supported which you will experience too. I am really looking forward to being your form tutor and getting to know you all in September.

My name is Mr Aslam. I have been teaching Mathematics since 2015. Currently I am MYP Lead (2ic) in Mathematics, teaching Key Stage 3, 4 and BTEC Engineering. My students have made tremendous progress, with all my Engineering students over 3 years achieving distinction in my taught units and going to the University of their choice. I enjoy going mountain climbing with my friends and successfully completed the 3 peaks in the UK. I have a passion for mathematics and therefore I chose to teach mathematics.

I am a Lead Practitioner in Art and Coordinator of Learning for Visual and Performing Arts. I have been at The Halley Academy for a year but have worked in schools for around 16 years. I have a chocolate labrador called Oscar who enjoys swimming and my favourite subjects are Art and History. I have always enjoyed learning about different cultures and travelling and I have a big list of places on my wish list to visit after not being able to travel as freely for the last 18 months. I am looking forward to being a year 7 tutor and learning about you all in September.

I'm Ms Bennett, and I'm really excited to be a tutor to our new year 7s! I've got lots of plans for my tutor class - I hope you like Harry Potter themed games and house cups… Harry Potter and Doctor Who are some of my favourite stories. I love reading books, so I hope you do too. I also love listening to all sorts of music, and I'm counting on you to show me new music next year.
One thing I really don't like is spiders - I'm always on the lookout for them, but there's not too many of them in the school.
I can't wait to meet and get to know my tutor group in September - see you after the summer holidays!

Hi everyone!
My name is Ms Cummings and I'm really excited to be your form tutor next year. I have been at The Halley Academy for two years now so I really know my way around! I can tell you what the best canteen food is, and where to go to hide from the rain.. I make sure that everyone in my classroom feels respected and able to discuss how they feel. I hope you all have a relaxing summer and are looking forward to starting your new school in September. I can't wait to meet you all!
