A message from Mr E. Godina - Deputy Head of Easley, MYP Coordinator

At The Halley Academy our Key Stage 3 curriculum is delivered through the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP).

The Halley Academy's mission and values align with The International Baccalaureate aims: to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

The MYP provides a framework of academic challenge that encourages students to embrace and understand the connections between traditional subjects and the real world, and become critical and reflective thinkers.

Why we love the MYP

Comments from Year 7 students about their Introduction to the MYP:

"It helps you reflect on yourself as a person"

"I think it's good to have the IB Profiles around the school and classrooms, it helps you to show what good things you have done in a lesson"

"In my opinion is good because it helps you to be a better person"

"It has helped me to build up my skills"

"It has impacted my life on a large scale"

"The IB Learner Profile has helped me to reflect on my mistakes and learn from them. Also it helps me understand what it means to be part of The Halley Academy"
