Although Chromebooks are a great web tool, Google Drive can also be set up so that you can work on Google Apps without internet access.
All you have to do is go into Google Drive, click on the cog icon and go to Settings, scroll down to 'Offline' and make sure the option is ticked.
You can then work on your Google docs and they will sync with your Google Drive once you are connected to the internet again.
To take a screenshot of the entire screen, press the Screenshot key (see right) or press the Ctrl key and the Switcher key at the same time.
Just need a bit of the screen? Pressing Alt and the Screenshot key, or pressing Ctrl, Shift and the Switcher key will allow you to select a section of the screen to snap.
The Screen recorder tool allows you to take screenshots or record your screen. This is a great way of gathering evidence or creating explanations for pieces of work.
We should all be seeking to be safety conscious, so the ability to lock down your device quickly is important.
You can do this quickly by holding down your power button for a second, or by pressing the Launcher key + L. On some devices, the Launcher key may look like a magnifying glass.
Most Chromebooks don't come with a specific Caps Lock button. So, for whatever reason, you want to type in CAPITAL letters, you can simple use the ALT + Search keys to turn your Caps on and off.
You can use these simple keyboard shortcuts to split your screen so different Windows appear on the left and right. Select the Window you wish to move and then click ALT + [ (left) and ALT + ] (right).
You can also anchor your tabs to the left and right by dragging them to the side of the page as shown in this video.
When working on a Chromebook, you can attach your device to an additional screen or IWB and then you can either mirror or extend your screen. This can be done in Settings>Device>Displays or you can switch between them using the CTRL + Display key shortcut. You can see how to do all this here.
