Many tools have a web and an app version (such as Google Docs, Kahoot, etc.). When you go into these for the first time, your Chromebook will normally ask you if you want the Chrome or app version. You select it and then it saves that as a default setting. So what do you do if you later want to change this? Follow these steps:
Go to Settings
Click on Apps in the left hand side menu
Click "Manage your apps"
Go to the App you want to reset
Under Opening supported links, select whether you want them to open in the app or in the Chrome browser
You should then be good to go and set a new default the next time you open the app.
