Hello! My name is Aimee Lessin AKA Iman Al-Omari; you can call me Miss Lessin (pronounced La-seen, Germanic origin meaning a forester or forest dweller). I live in Ben Lomond, in the redwood forests of the Santa Cruz mountains. In my downtime, you can find me outdoors enjoying nature via kayaking, mountain biking, gardening, and hiking.
I completed my Bachelor's degree in sociology and child psychology at UC Santa Cruz. During my undergraduate studies at UCSC, I studied abroad in Jordan, where I picked up the Arabic language and embraced Islamic culture. In 2021, I completed a Master's degree in Education Curriculum and Instruction and California Teaching Credential from San Jose State University. With over ten years of experience teaching English to culturally and linguistically diverse students, I have a wealth of experience with multicultural and multilingual educational environments. I am currently pursuing an Administrative Services Credential through the Santa Clara County Office of Education to help increase my efficacy to advocate and support our multilingual and English Language Learners.
