High School Esports in New Mexico started in 2019 through the NMAA and PlayVs. The NMAA currently allows schools to compete in the following titles:

Hearthstone
Madden
NBA 2K
Super Smash Bros Ultimate
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Splatoon 3
Street Fighter 6
LAHS was one of the first schools to set up a team and begin competing for the Overall NM State Championship. Points are awarded to each school for how well they do in each game over the Regular Season and how they finish in Playoffs. Players also receive medals for placing Top 4 in any particular game.
