Contact your school counselor to be added to the Dual Credit Google classroom. All materials will be submitted through the Google classroom, including the full dual credit application.
Dual enrollment is met when students take courses simultaneously at UNM Los Alamos (UNMLA) or Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) while still in high school. Dual enrollment courses are courses that ARE NOT offered at LAHS. Examples include, but are not limited to, Intro to Sociology, Nutrition, Intro to Communication, etc. Classes offered at the high school are NOT dual enrollment but concurrent enrollment. These include, but are not limited to, Calculus 1, Spanish, Intro to Psychology, etc.
Tuition paid by New Mexico Public Education Department
Textbooks are paid for by Los Alamos Public Schools
Course Fees are paid by the student (or family)
Must meet paperwork/registration deadlines that are EARLIER than UNMLA deadlines
Credits will be reflected on LAHS transcript and UNMLA or NNMC transcript
Must meet eligibility requirements
Student must pay all costs
Will not be counted for credit at LAHS (not even as an elective) . The course will be on your UNMLA transcript.
Courses taken as a prerequisite for a higher level LAHS course must be pre-approved by LAHS administration.

Summer and fall schedules for UNM-LA will be available in March. Registration for summer and fall begins in April. The spring schedule comes out in October. Spring paperwork and information are due in November.
