All LAHS Band students will have an account set up through SmartMusic. This program will be used for practice purposes. Assessments themselves will be performed live through an appointment with the band director. Info will be posted below soon.

SmartMusic is a web-based practice tool. All students will have access to their own account and should plan on using it regularly to help them improve and prepare them for assessments. Students should go to SmartMusic and use the access code for their concert ensemble:

Follow the instructions to activate your account and you can begin practicing right away!
Assessment
Assessment
A coherent system for developing skills on a continuous basis is a must for any group. It gives direction to what we do, allows us to perform at higher levels and access greater challenges so we can perform more musically. Each student will be accountable for demonstrating both individual skill development and knowing their band music. In general, assessment will work in the following manner:
- Items taken from the blue book will be assessed in SmartMusic
- Items taken from performance pieces (band music) will be assessed in person with a director either during in-class pullouts or during Academic Time and after school via appointment
