Frisson Winds
The Los Alamos Concert Association (LACA) is thrilled to welcome Frisson Winds back to the Duane Smith Auditorium on Saturday, October 17 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
Frisson Winds features the brilliant wind musicians of the group Frisson. The ensemble’s virtuoso performers present a wide variety of music for winds in various combinations. In 2023, Frisson Winds performed to great acclaim as a quintet with pianist Marika Bournaki. This year, we are fortunate to have Frisson Winds return as a larger ensemble in order to perform Mozart’s iconic Serenade No. 10 “Gran Partita” in the full 13-instrument orchestration.
A program of Classical Era Masterpieces: Mozart, Salieri, Beethoven
The program will open with Mozart’s Overture to The Magic Flute, followed by Salieri’s Harmoniemusik for the Temple of the Night and Beethoven’s Rondino for Winds in E-flat Major, WoO25. Following intermission, Frisson Winds will perform one of the great masterpieces of the wind repertoire, Mozart’s Serenade No. 10 in B-flat Major for 13 Winds (“Gran Partita”), K. 361 (370a).
After the concert, everyone is invited to the lobby and reception area to meet the musicians, enjoy refreshments, and peruse the Los Alamos Concert Association’s 80th anniversary display.
