Ms. Kaitlyn Harville

This week our Teacher Feature is Mrs. Harville. Starting off Mrs. Harville has been teaching for about 9 years. Mrs. Harville decided to become a teacher, because she never wanted to do anything else. Mrs. Harville's favorite part about working at our school is that the staff is hilarious. Something her students might be surprised to learn about her is she went swimming with Manta Rays.

Ms. Macy Taylor

Have you ever wondered why Ms. Macy became a teacher? She did it because she loves helping kids see how awesome they can be! If she wasn't teaching us, she would probably be working as an accountant.

Ms. Macy has a really fun side, too. Her favorite school memory ever is a silent disco from her first year of teaching. Also, if she is listening to music, it is probably Christian rap!

Most of all, Ms. Macy wants to help her students learn how to speak up and express themselves nicely. Make sure to say hi and thank Ms. Macy the next time you see her in the hallway!

Mr. Lewis Evans

For the teacher feature of the week, the newspaper staff chose Mr. Evans.  Mr. Evans is an 8th grade math teacher and has been teaching for 7 years.  Mr. Evans is also a pastor for Goodpine Baptist Church as a music leader and youth teacher.  Mr. Evans decided to become a teacher because he was always interested in it and then a good opportunity showed up.  His favorite part about teaching is summers, Mondays, and holidays off.  Fun fact about Mr. Evans is that he has lived in 4 different states and went to 11 different schools.  Mr. Evans’ favorite thing to do outside of school is to spend time with family, watch sports, and “watch the Cowboys beat the Saints.”  His favorite movie or movies is the Marvel Franchise, his favorite food or meal would be steak and baked potato with an iced cold sweet tea.   Mr. Evans’ favorite memory as a teacher is getting to teach his oldest son.  LOL😉  However, his most funniest memory would be in his first year teaching. His students took his avatar and put it on their background picture of their Chromebooks, then waved them in the air singing a song.  Mr. Evans is also one of the sponsors of the Fellowship of Christian Students club, also known as FCS.  He has been an FCS sponsor for 7 years and they meet together once a month.  His favorite part about FCS is having guest speakers.  He said that he is very excited about this year and is ready to see students grow in Christ. And finally, if there is one thing Mr. Evans would say to his students, he would say “care about your education and future.”
