Teacher Feature

Mrs. Diana Price

Mrs. Price is our 6th grade teacher feature this month. While she loves watching all her students grow, she secretly enjoys the humorous kids the most, finding that a well-timed joke or a witty remark makes English a whole lot more fun.

Before she became a teacher, Mrs. Price had a completely different vision for her life. If she wasn't a teacher today, she would be a lawyer. However, family took priority. She ultimately chose education for a deeply practical reason: she wanted to be on the same schedule as her own children. That choice paid off in ways she never expected, leading to her absolute favorite teaching memory: getting to teach at the exact same grade level as her kids, allowing her to share their daily school world in a truly unique way.

Outside of school, Mrs. Price likes to hunt for treasures at flea markets. If she is choosing dinner, it is always going to be Italian food. Her favorite TV shows are Murder, She Wrote and Parks and Recreation.

Mrs. Caitlin Vinson

This week's teacher feature is Mrs Caitlin Vinson.  She teaches 7th grade ELA and she is in charge of the JJHS newspaper.  Her favorite memory is from last year during the And Then There Were None unit.  During the unit every morning she would play a game where one person was the murderer and the rest of the students were innocent.  She said how her favorite part was watching our reaction when finding out who the next victim was that day. Her favorite hobbies are reading and traveling.  Her favorite place to travel is Gatlinburg, Tennessee during Thanksgiving to Christmas time.  Her favorite part of teaching is watching her students grow and mature over the course of the year, in not just their growth in knowledge but their maturity as the year progresses. She hopes that her students learned from her to tell the truth and to not lie.  She could never live without Dr. Pepper because it is her favorite drink right now but she has told us that she has different phases where she either likes Dr. Pepper or Coke.  If she was not a teacher she would want to run her own wedding venue.  Her favorite food is chips and queso.  If she could have any super power it would be to mind read, but she would want to be able to control it. She would not want to hear everyone's thoughts all at once because it would overwhelm her.  She could use the power for teaching; she could know what her students want and help them improve. If she could spend the day with anybody ever she would spend it with Cody Johnson.  One thing that she has learned from the students is that every student wants to learn but the teachers have to find the students own way of learning.

Mrs. Bailey Moss

This week the teacher feature is Mrs. Moss! First, when asked what her favorite things to do outside of school is, she said “Doing anything with the youth, spending time with my sister, or hanging out with the people I love.” Next, when asked what her favorite movie, tv show, book, or type of music was, she said her favorite tv show is Grey’s Anatomy, her favorite book is the bible, and her favorite music genre is Christian, which makes sense, because fun fact she is a Youth Leader at Trinity Baptist Church. Next, when asked what her favorite memory from her time as a teacher was, making a movie last year, or the debates her students do in her class. Then, when asked what she looks forward to this school year, she said “Making connections with students.” Lastly, when asked what career she would choose if she wasn’t a teacher, she said her dream job was to be a student counselor.
