Walt Brixey

The 6th grade student feature this week is Walt Brixey. When asked which class was his favorite, Walt said it was social studies because of Coach Keene. Walt's most favorite hobby is riding his side by side. Walt participates in football and 4-H. He hopes that the 2026 Jena Jr. High football team goes undefeated. His favorite food is pepperoni pizza. Something Walt would like everyone to know about him is that he has 2 siblings, Will and Hayden. One memorable thing that has happened to him this year is when Mrs. Price got mad at the 6th graders for losing the Hawaiian pep rally.

Farrah Feeheley

Today the Jena Junior High School newspaper class went to interview Student of the Week Farrah Feeheley to ask her some questions. The first question we asked her was, "What is your favorite subject at school and why?" She replied, "ELA because it's the easiest." Then we asked her, "What are some of your favorite things to do outside of school?" She said, "Softball and cheer." Then the last thing we asked her was, "What is something you are looking forward to this school year?" She said, "Making new friends."

Tatum Maxwell

Today, we decided to interview Tatum Maxwell for our Student of the Week! Tatum is 14 years old and is a member of the football team, where he proudly wears number 4. Having been a part of JJHS for the past 4 years, Tatum has made plenty of memories and grown a lot during his time here. When we asked Tatum some questions about himself, we learned a lot of interesting things about him. His favorite food is fried catfish, and one thing he is especially proud of is accomplishing some of the tests again this year. Tatum said that the three people who inspire him the most are his mom, his dad, and God. This year, Tatum is looking forward to improving his football abilities and becoming a better player. In the future, he hopes to work in the oil field and would like to accomplish his goal of becoming more like his dad. Tatum also shared that he could not live without his sweet tea and sports cards, which shows just a little bit of what he enjoys in his free time. When asked about one of the most embarrassing things he has ever done, Tatum said it was when he accidentally broke one of the chairs in Mrs. Moss’s class! 😂 If Tatum could have any superpower, he would choose the ability to fly so he could get places faster and, as he said, “just be fast in general.” Tatum also had some good advice for other students. He wishes he could tell students to listen to their teachers and do their homework, because putting in the effort at school is important. Finally, Tatum hopes to get a job in the future that gives him lots of money. Overall, Tatum is a hardworking student, a dedicated football player, and someone who has big goals for his future. We are excited to see what Tatum accomplishes both on and off the football field. Congratulations, Tatum, on being our Student of the Week! 🏈⭐
