For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God-- not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
The school year is back in full swing with lots of new students, new teachers, and a brand new Jena Jr. Times team. We are so excited to bring this beloved feature back to the students and faculty of JJHS. I have some very eager students helping me, who are excited to hit the ground running with fresh ideas and PLENTY of interviews. If you have anything you would like to see or pictures you would like to share, please email them to me at cvinson@lasallepsb.com. Let's have a great year!

Today we decided to interview 6th graders coming from Goodpine Middle School to Jena Jr. High. Many people say that moving from the Goodpine to the Jr. High was a major difference. However, people like Kolten say that moving from school to school was not very much of a change. Most of the 6th graders say the Jr. High is better while some people like GPMS better. What the 6th graders like the most about their new school is the longer lunch and the more free reign to sit anywhere. They like the new teachers, they believe that the teachers are more chill and fun than other teachers. They like the new class situation with shorter time in each class, more classrooms which means more teachers to meet, and a bigger gym. Overall, the 6th graders are now getting used to their new school, new teachers, new classes, and are very excited for the new year.

Interviews:
Tobias-He just moved from Nebo Elementary School to JJHS and he says that all the students and teachers have happily welcomed him with open arms to the Jena JR High. He says that all of his classes are going good and that he is understanding all of the material.
Mika- She likes the new school but, all the new different teachers is overwhelming. Before she transitioned to the Jr. High she only had one teacher so it was a big change for her. She describes that all the teachers have been fun and welcoming and that her favorite was Coach Keene. She says that all the new students have been welcoming. -- Jax Farmer/Addison Mitchell
