Scripture of the Week

1 John 3:1 ESV

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

1st Nine Weeks PBIS Reward- Snow cones!

230 students were eligible for the PBIS reward for the 1st nine weeks. Local snow cone stand The Sugary Spoon was gracious enough to come and spend an entire day here at JJHS making snow cones for students who earned the reward. During their PE time, students were given a choice of 5 flavors: Tigers Blood, Strawberry Cheesecake, Cake Batter, Wedding Cake, or Bubble Gum. They were then allowed to play on the softball field for the rest of the hour. Thank you students for your hard work and to The Sugary Spoon!

Parent Teacher Conference is Monday, October 12 from 2-6 pm.

A Recap of the JJHS 2026 Football Season

This year the Jena Junior Giants went undefeated, after winning our final game against Winnfield Tuesday night. Coach Knight said he wanted to thank the team for “Making his first year as a coach special.”

Coach KJ also said that this was special for him, because when he was in Junior High he also went undefeated. Coach Weaver said that we improved on showing up for practice. Next, he said he was proud of the young guys for stepping up when someone got hurt. Finally, he said he was excited for the young guys to step up next year.

After interviewing Coach Whatley he said he was most proud of us for showing up, and trying hard. Next, we asked him “What did we improve on most this season?” His response was “Trying hard, and finishing games, because last year that was an issue.” Finally we asked him “What are you most excited for next year?” He said “The older guys worked hard, showing the younger guys what to do.” In hopes that they will follow in their steps.
