When you get to the pond, you will see that most of the pond is covered in a big blob of slimy green stuff. This is called algae. Algae gives the animals in the pond nutrients, just like we get from vegetables!
The pond is a perfect home for all of the little tadpoles to grow up into frogs. Watch out, frogs are friendly, there might be some ready to jump out and meet you!
Salamanders are like spiders, but with half the legs. They eat the insects that live in the pond, like mosquitoes. The salamanders get a yummy snack and you get less itchy bug bites!
