Print the cases, upload the software, install the electronics, DONE!! Nothing to it.
Here is a suggestion to build from easiest to hardest:
The laser beam trays
The Hogline units
The Backline unit
If you just want a simple circuit diagram and don't like/need to read instructions. BackLineXiao wiring Diagram. HogLineXiao wiring diagram.
For the old 30 Esp32 version there is a different wiring diagram Here it is.
Laser Light Trays Assembly
Here are instructions for putting together the laser light trays. And now with an exciting assembly video!
HogLine Cases Assembly
Instructions for the Hog Line "Sender" with the SeeedStudio ESP32-C3 Xiao. These instructions are for the case with the integrated laser beam which I don't recommend; but assembly is similar and just ignore the laser beam instructions.
See the following quick video of assembling the hog line cases.
If you are using the old 30 pin esp32 and those older cases, here are the instructions for that model.
Back Line Case Assembly
Before assembling the parts, the support material needs to be removed. You probably figured that out by yourself.
Step 1: Connect everything as shown on the wiring diagram
Step 2: Power up the small Xiao ESP32-C3 to test the system electronics before assembly.
Step 3: Slide the two microcontrollers into their respective holders--under the clip/covers that hold them in place. The pins and wires on the controllers face upwards.
Step 4: Screw the IR sensor into place. Slide the ESP32 chips into position on the bottom case
Step 5: Push the photodiode into positon on the top case. The wires "fold" down into the bottom case. The OLED screen comes up through the bottom of the top case.
Step 6: Press the top case part onto the bottom case.
Step 7: Cover the photodiode sensor and the screen with their respective cover pieces.
