Community resources play an important role in supporting students and families in the elementary setting. Schools can work together with local organizations to provide additional support that promotes student well-being, academic success, and family engagement. Partnering with programs such as Communities In Schools helps connect students and families to valuable services including mentoring, counseling support, basic needs assistance, and family resources. By collaborating with community partners, schools are better able to support the whole child and create stronger connections between the school, families, and the community.
