Robotics Team Description:
LC Robotics Team 272 (Cyber Crusaders) is beginning its 24th year! Any LC student can join for free and help build a 125 lb. robot. We meet from September through May with our build season starting in January. We compete in two competitions and we participate in off season events and demonstrations. District Championships are held at Stabler Arena located at Lehigh University and we have enjoyed traveling to the World Competition to compete with teams from around the globe. Joining the Robotics Team is a great opportunity to learn the practical side of STEM education as well as develop leadership and teamwork skills. Robotics is for everyone...not just for the "science" kid. Our team creates business plans, produces weekly hpe videos, and runs a social media department. If you are artistic, come out and design our competition shirts! There is so much for you to learn and experience. As our motto says, "We Will Find A Way Or Make One".
Testimonials:
The LC Robotics program is great for anyone with an interest in anything STEM. It pairs together an amazing experience of learning with the good times of hanging out with classmates. There is really something for everyone to do no matter what your interest is. There's mechanical building, computer assisted design, project planning, and programming, along with the actual operation of the robot. Robotics was a great way for me to meet new friends from all different parts of the school, while learning something useful. Robotics will always be one of my favorite communities in the LC Family that offers something a little special.
LC Robotics was my favorite reason to go to school. Everyone on the team is so welcoming and will meet you exactly where you are with your skills. I went in with little to no experience and came out with much more than engineering knowledge. I learned everything from communication, leadership, and problem solving. Transferring to LC to be a part of the robotics team was definitely the best decision I've ever made. It has opened the door to so many opportunities as well as connections and lifelong friendships. It was so comforting to know that I found my place.
