The Catalyst Staff!

EMILIE O'CONNOR, '24

Catalyst Editor-in-Chief

I am so excited to be a part of Newspaper this year and share some of my favorite parts of LC! When I’m not in school, I love to travel and spend time with my friends and family as much as I can.

LAUREN KULP, '24

This is my first year being a part of a newspaper & I’m excited to use my creativity in this club. I’m looking forward to sharing my ideas, writing, and photographs with the rest of the students at LC! In my free time, I enjoy the outdoors, traveling, baking, & spending time with my family & friends.

ERIN TELLERS, '24

In my free time, I dance, mostly ballet, & I love baking. I have one older & one younger sister. A weird fact about me is that I love mint, anything mint. I love the holiday season mostly because it’s the time of year where mint is the number one holiday flavor! I hope you enjoy our newspaper this year & if you have any questions just ask me in the hallways or through email... I am happy to help.

COURTNEY DIENNA, '25

I have always loved writing for as long as I can remember & I am so excited to be a part of the newspaper once again this year! Being able to share my writings is such a rewarding experience that I am so grateful to have. Outside of school, I act and sing in different theater productions, volunteer, participate in many clubs, & more! I also love spending time with my friends & family. I cannot wait to see what this year brings for me and the rest of the staff.

Assistant Editor

As an avid reader and writer, I love Newspaper as an outlet for creative writing. If you ever find me not reading or writing, which is rare, I’ll be watching movies or comfort TV shows...because, who doesn’t love a good binge watch?

ALYSSA HOWARD, '24

I am thrilled to be on the newspaper team this year and to have the ability to convey my thoughts and bring a new perspective to the writings! A few things about myself: I am a huge New Girl and One Tree Hill fan and love to watch movies I can cry to. I am also a very passionate Philly sports fan and am always up for karaoke. I am always ready for new adventures and willing to try new things, and I can’t wait to share my thoughts through my writing :)

CAROLINE ALEGADO, '23

I’m excited to be a part of the newspaper team again this year. I appreciate the newspaper as an outlet for my creative writing skills & a place to showcase my photography. I love that the newspaper shares the accomplishments & talents of the students with everyone in the LC community. Outside of school I like playing field hockey, baking, reading, & spending time with friends & family.

EMMA LAHR, '26

The newspaper is a chance for me to be creative and to express myself in artistic ways. When I am not drawing, I am playing volleyball, skateboarding or hanging with friends.

I love sharing my passion for reading, writing, and the arts with all LC students, but especially with these talented, dedicated staff members! Their vision and creativity continually impresses and inspires, and gives witness to our bright future. Outside of school, you can find me running or hiking, traveling, yelling at the TV during any Philly sports game, attending an LC Kairos or prayer group, or spending time around the table with my crazy family of eleven!

AMY GARCIA, '24

Graphic Designer

I'm very excited to help out with LC's Lit. Mag. this year! I am especially happy to share some of my art, including pieces that relate to my Filipino-American identity, Outside of school, I love traveling to new places and making new memories. I hope you enjoy The Catalyst 2023!

VANESSA SCHIMONY, '24

Writing has always been a passion of mine. Between writing fun short stories when I was little & songs for family members on their birthdays, I have never hesitated to display my creativity through words. I love to journal, listen to music, play guitar, & thrift. My favorite hobby is running which I have been doing for 5 years. I work at Country Bride on Broad Street & Mom's Ice Cream in Hatfield (the 'Death by Chocolate' is literally to die for). Any extra time I have is spent hanging out with friends & fam.

TALIA BARROW, '23

I'm super excited to be a part of the newspaper!  I love being able to explore all aspects of creative writing, journalism & even broadcasting, all while having fun!

MEGAN RYAN, '26

I am so excited to be part of the Literary Magazine this year because I love designing and organizing things to make them look pretty. Joining a club is new to me but I think I'll really enjoy it. Outside of school I love to bake, read, and cook.
