Hi! I'm Kathy, and I'm so grateful for the beautiful life I get to share with my husband, Matt. We have a wonderfully full family that brings us so much joy, our daughter Kasey and her husband Kevin, along with their two little ones, Benji and Lilly; our son Sam and his wife Laura, who’ve given us our sweet granddaughter Maya; our daughter Austyn and her wife Ashton; and our daughter Colby and her husband Derek. Each of them fills our hearts in unique and special ways.
I'm also lucky enough to love what I do - I teach at Langston Charter Middle School, and I truly believe I have the best students around. Their energy and curiosity make every day rewarding.
When I’m not at school or spending time with my family, you'll most likely find me at the beach, collecting shells or with binoculars in hand, enjoying a bit of birding - something I've loved for as long as I can remember. Nature brings me peace, and I cherish the quiet moments it offers.
With a Bachelor's degree in Spanish and a Project-Based Learning certification from Furman University, along with a Master's in Elementary Education from the University of Florida and ESOL certification, I bring a well-rounded and dynamic approach to teaching middle school Spanish. My background equips me to create engaging, culturally rich, and student-centered learning experiences that support language acquisition and foster real-world application. By integrating project-based learning strategies, I empower students to actively participate in their language development, while also meeting the diverse needs of English language learners through my ESOL training
