Primary Years Programme

Langley Park Primary Academy offers its pupils a unique learning experience. The Primary Years Programme (PYP)  is the vehicle of delivery for the National Curriculum, which is a set of subjects and standards used by primary and secondary schools to ensure that children learn the same things.  It covers what subjects are taught and the standards children should reach in each subject.

The PYP offers an inquiry-based, transdisciplinary (all curriculum subjects) curriculum frameowkr that builds conceptual understanding. It is a pupil-centred approach to education from children aged 3-12 years.

The PYP has evolved to become a world leader in future-focused education. It is an example of best educational practice globally, responding to the challenges and opportunities facing young children in our rapidly changing world.

Our PYP transdisciplinary themes incorporate the National Curriculum subject areas:

Maths English

Science Computing

PE Geography

History RE
