10th March 2023

Principal's Message:

We've had a really busy week. We are really pleased that we were able to keep the school open on Wednesday despite the weather conditions. The children enjoyed being at school in the snow, even though it was a little chilly.

On the topic of closures, it gives us further pleasure to share that we will be open on the strike days of Wednesday 15th March and Thursday 16th March.

You may or may not be aware, but there is a national shortage of teaching assistants in the education sector, and, unfortunately, Langley Park hasn't escaped the impact of this.

If you or you know someone who might be interested in joining the team at Langley Park to work with our truly wonderful children, please do click on the link below to apply.

We have a number of staff who are also parents and they could not be more complimentary about working at the school their children attend. We have a real commitment to developing all of our team in many ways, so having a teaching assistant qualification would not be necessary. If you would like more information before applying, I'd be happy to have a conversation if required.

Have a lovely weekend.

Miss Brading

Office Reminders:

If you are collecting your child from the school office in the afternoon or indeed coming to collect medication or to speak to a member of the office staff please ensure that this is done promptly.

Please do not remain in the office area for longer than necessary. If you would like to speak to fellow parents at collection time please do this in the outside area rather than the office. It is not a large space and as you can imagine can become busy very quickly.

Contacting the class teachers:

If you have concerns that you would like to raise with the academy, please do so via the school office email address on contactus@langleyparkprimaryacademy.org.uk  and it will be directed to the relevant members of staff.

National Online Safety Guide

When Apple unveiled the iPad in early 2010, they almost single-handedly rewrote people's idea of what a portable device was capable of... and sparked a tablet revolution! There are several very respectable imitators on the market now, but the iPad remains the standard bearer for tablet computers and still routinely sells upwards of 40 million units every year.

The iPad's immense popularity has, of course, made it a familiar companion for children and young people as perhaps a TV, an aid for schoolwork or a blessing on a long car journey. That said, there are still some aspects of Apple's flagship tablet that parents and carers should bear in mind to help protect their child(ren) from online risks. These are explained in the guide below and include possible hazards such as the risk of age-inappropriate content, physical damage to the device and potential screen addiction.
