Theme of the Fortnight

Our first Theme of the Fortnight for this term is "Keeping us and the planet safe". This week we have focused upon keeping safe at school, and in our wider community, in aid of Children's Safety Week. The questions that we considered as part of our whole school assembly were;

1. What does being safe mean to you?

2. Who keeps you safe?

3. Who do you keep safe?

4. How do you keep yourself and others safe?

The children had some really interesting and intuitive ideas about this, providing an excellent opportunity for discussion and exploration of the topic. We also considered our safety in different contexts;

1. Stranger Safety

2. Sun Safety

3. Road Safety

4. Safety at School

5. Hygiene Safety

6. Safety at Home

7. Internet Safety

Each year group had one of the above foci and gave the following advice for each! I am sure you will agree that we have very sensible, reflective and knowledgeable children who certainly demonstrate excellent principles in staying safe!
