This week in Journalism Club, pupils had the opportunity to interview several members of staff who attended the Young Voices event at the O2 last week.

“We were signed up for young voices for the school choir last year. And I know the children have been practising since September. On Thursday, the day of the concert, we got a coach from the school at 11:30 and we travelled up to the O2 in London. We were practising for the concert, and the main event started at 7:00 in the evening” .
“I did enjoy it, the rehearsals were really long but it's fabulous to be a part of 8,000 children all singing the same songs and doing the same actions. It was so lovely to watch and I enjoyed going up there. It's my 5th time going to young voices!”
“Umm, oh my gosh! I remember that the man from strictly come dancing, Tommy Blaze sang ‘Lean On Me’. There were a lot of songs!” Mrs Dennison laughs.

Today we were interviewing the main man. Mr Monaco, hello!
Mr Monaco:
Hi! Why are you two here today?
Young Voices is a choir made from all over the world and we are lucky enough to be a part of this!
It was held at the O2, since it was the closest venue to us because there are so many around country.
About 34 children in our school that learn dances and routines, which is amazing.
It was very exciting, I felt my soul above the clouds. It was awe inspiring!

We had Mrs swan, Mrs Dennison and Miss Slater
It's a great opportunity to build kids' confidence, and I love being part of that.
Yes they felt very happy and made the school proud.

“I was asked to go to young voices and was delighted to be invited”.
“It ran very smoothly, and everything was just how it should be!”
“It was fun for both the adults and children, everyone was smiling and dancing.”
“People were enjoying themselves and I was blown away by the talent. There were people from different bands and the children were joining in with the songs. It was fabulous. Everyone was exhausted so all of them slept on the coach. Even the teachers took a little snooze,” says Mrs Swan.
