Plans for our annual Christmas Fair are now well underway, and there is a wonderful sense of excitement building across the school. Staff, pupils, and volunteers have all begun contributing ideas and preparations, and we are very much looking forward to a festive event that brings our whole community together. Further details will be shared in the coming weeks.
This week, our teaching staff had the valuable opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from other academies within our trust. Together, they worked on refining and strengthening our Programmes of Inquiry, ensuring that our curriculum remains engaging, challenging, and aligned across schools. These professional learning opportunities are incredibly beneficial and help us continue providing high-quality learning experiences for our pupils.
We were also pleased to host our Community of Schools meeting, welcoming leaders and staff from local primary and secondary schools. This gathering allowed us to share best practices, discuss local priorities, and build stronger partnerships with neighbouring schools.
As we move further into the colder months, we have begun to see a noticeable rise in seasonal illnesses. We have been speaking with children about the importance of good hygiene—regular handwashing, using tissues, and covering coughs and sneezes. We kindly ask families to reinforce these habits at home to help keep everyone healthy.
Finally, we want to address an issue regarding the boys’ toilets. Unfortunately, they have not been left in an acceptable condition on several occasions. It appears that a small number of children are not using the facilities appropriately, resulting in urine on the floor rather than in the toilets. We are addressing this in school, but we would greatly appreciate your support by speaking with your children about respectful and hygienic use of the toilets. Working together, we can ensure a clean and comfortable environment for all.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Have a wonderful weekend.

This edition of WakeUpWednesday explores essential electrical safety habits for homes and schools. This week’s guide highlights simple steps that can prevent overheating, fires and other hazards linked to everyday electrical devices. It offers clear, reassuring advice to help adults spot risks early and model safer routines.
It explores common risk areas, including unsafe charging habits and overloading sockets, and explains how to identify early warning signs such as damaged cables or poorly ventilated devices. The guide also touches on protective measures like RCDs and safe power bank use, supporting families and educators in creating safer environments for young people.
We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to the Key Stage Lead and/or Mrs Neame, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.
