This week, our wonderful Year 6 pupils enjoyed their Residential Trip to Rootd Adventures in Harpenden. They had an exceptional time and gained valuable insights about themselves and each other. A huge thank you to the dedicated staff who accompanied them and helped make the trip such a memorable experience.
We also held our second Diversity and Inclusion Working Group meeting. This is a valuable opportunity to collaborate with parents on how we ensure that every member of our community feels welcomed and included. A number of key actions came from the meeting, including a commitment to share more about how we celebrate diversity and inclusion at our school. You can find this information on the Diversity and Inclusion page of our newsletter. If you’re interested in joining the group, please don’t hesitate to contact the academy office.
In addition, we were delighted to host the first of our transition events for new Reception parents. It was very well attended and provided a fantastic opportunity to welcome our newest families into our school community.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

The remarkable growth of generative AI tools such as ChatGPT has opened up exciting new opportunities for young learners. Used wisely, AI can be a powerful ally in boosting creativity, learning and problem-solving skills. Without proper guidance, however, young people may stumble into challenges including inaccurate information, data security risks and a growing reliance on AI over their own critical thinking.
From setting clear usage boundaires to teaching digital hygiene and promoting independent thought, the below guide offers parents and carers practical advice on the safe, positive use of AI. With the right understanding and guidance, you can ensure that generative AI becomes a positive influence, rather than a potential pitfall in children's digital lives.
We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to the Key Stage Lead and/or Mrs Neame, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.
