It's been a jam-packed week this week with visitors to the school.
Parents Evening
Undoubtedly, my favourite part of the week has been our Parents Evenings. It really is a lovely opportunity to see the whole community come together to celebrate our wonderful children and discover how we can develop them to be even better. I hope that you have found the meetings useful.
As you know, we ask you to complete a survey about the academy. This is, in fact, the survey that Ofsted will also ask you to complete about the school when they visit us. We are currently number-crunching the results and will share them with you in due course. However, I can confirm that, from reviewing the feedback briefly, the responses are overwhelmingly positive. It is so encouraging for us to hear about how positive our community is about the academy. We have also received some really helpful, constructive feedback that we are looking forward to considering.
Open Day
You may also be aware that on Wednesday we hosted our Open Day events for our prospective parents. We shared with the families all of the wonderful things about our academy which were then showcased to the families through tours hosted by Year 6 pupils. Without exception, every family were blown away by what they not only heard about, but also what they saw with their own eyes during their visit. Some comments we received included;
"It's been the best presentation we've seen of all the schools we have visited and we have visited a lot."
"We can't get over the vocabulary of your Year 6 children."
"Your children have done you very proud."
This really does show why we do what we do and for it to be seen by visitors to our school is just marvellous. The Year 6 pupils who took our visitors on tours around the academy were truly a credit to the academy and you, their parents.
Toilets
I would like, now, to ask for you to come together, as our community, and help us again with something we are trying to address as a school. You may recall before the half term that I asked if you could speak with your children at home about their use of the academy toilets. We have, again, found ourselves in the situation whereby the toilets have been left in such a bad state that we have had no choice but to close certain cubicles.
We have spoken to the children about this already, however I would also appreciate it if you could take some time with your child at home to go through the below slides with them. I am sure that it is not always intentional and that with us all promoting the correct use of the toilets we will soon see this be less of an issue.
Thank you and have a wonderful weekend.

QR codes are a useful means by which people can quickly access online resources and other information by simply scanning a pixellated pattern with mobile phone camera. Unfortunately, as with many other advances in technology, there are those who use QR codes to scam and defraud unsuspecting people thus tricking them into providing personal details and payment information.
It can difficult to determine when a QR code is legitimate, or where exactly you might encounter a scam of this nature, but it is important to learn how to do this in order to avoid falling victim to such scams/frauds. The below guide explores the most common places you might find a QR code scam and explains how best to protect yourself from this type of underhanded practice.

We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to the Key Stage Lead and/or Mrs Neame, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.
