We have had an extremely busy and exciting week with Interfaith Week, the LAT Swimming Gala, a Year 6 trip and our Parents’ Evenings!
Interfaith Week was a huge success, with children learning about a range of religions represented within our local, wider and global communities. Each year group shared their learning during our Celebration Assembly, demonstrating an impressive standard of international mindedness.
This week it was Braeburn Class’s turn to visit the Battle of Britain Museum. The children enjoyed their visit just as much as the previous class, who visited last week, and we were delighted to receive compliments from members of the public about both groups. One visitor even took the time to email the academy. We are extraordinarily proud that our children have been rightly recognised for how wonderful they are.
On Tuesday, four Year 5 children represented our academy at the LAT Swimming Gala hosted at Sir Joseph Williamson’s Mathematical School in Rochester. They worked incredibly hard in both individual and team heats and demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship throughout.
We have also hosted our first Parents’ Evenings of the academic year this week. This year we trialled a new format and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, meaning that we will continue with this approach going forward. It was lovely to see such high attendance across both evenings and wonderful to have the opportunity to catch up with so many families. Thank you to everyone who completed our short survey — we are very pleased with the feedback and look forward to sharing it with you in due course.
As we are now in the winter months, all children should be wearing the winter uniform. Uniform expectations can be found on our website.
Additionally, colder and wetter weather often increases the number of cars using the car park. Please can I remind you of the following:
Only park in designated bays. If these are full, you will need to park off-site. Cars not parked correctly will be asked to move and persistent issues may result in restricted use of the car park.
Please switch engines off whilst stationary.
Ensure all children are closely supervised and that pedestrian walkways are used at all times.
Disabled bays must only be used by blue badge holders. We have several children who require these spaces and it is essential that they are available for them.
Do not park on or near to zebra crossings or walkways.
Do not park near the vehicle gate under any circumstances.
Thank you for your support with this.
Have a wonderful weekend.

We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to the Key Stage Lead and/or Mrs Neame, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.
