It has been another busy week full of learning opportunities and fun experiences for the children.
Our commitment to developing the wider personal development of all pupils continued this week with our Reception children visiting Tyland Barn. This experience has helped the children to contextualise their unit of inquiry for this term centred on animals and their habitats. Pupils showed a huge amount of enthusiasm and engagement with the activities at Tyland Barn and also behaved impeccably. We had some wonderful feedback from a volunteer who took the time to write in;
"Their behaviour was exemplary and they were brilliantly organised by a lovely group of teaching staff. It was my first experience of a school visit and it turned out to be an absolute pleasure."
Thank you to our parent helpers for supporting us with the trip.
Last Friday, we hosted an open day for a small group of student teachers as part of the training programme. We were approached to host this by KMT, one of the leading providers for school based teacher training, to provide an opportunity for these student teachers to see best practice for support and challenge within our teaching and learning. The reason I share this is because we had overwhelmingly positive feedback from this, of which our whole community can be proud of. Some of the feedback included;
"I just wanted to say thank you ever so much for allowing me to visit. It was wonderful to see all the brilliant support and challenge going on across the school."
"I have already started to think about what I have observed at Langley and about small changes I can implement to further improve my own teaching. It was a really positive experience."
Our Key Stage 2 football team are competing in our Trust Cluster football tournament today and we look forward to sharing the outcome of this in next week's newsletter.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

My Mum
As in previous years, our academy has participated in the annual 'My Mum' supplement of the Kent Messenger to celebrate Mother's Day 2025. All pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 were invited to draw a picture of Mum/Mummy/a special someone and these images will be printed in the local Kent Messenger week ending 28th March 2025. You will be able to purchase this newspaper at any local newsagent or supermarket so please make sure you pick up a copy and view your child's lovely drawing and message.
Golden Tickets
This week, all children were issued with a special Golden Ticket which can be purchased for £1 and entered our prize draw for some egg-citing Easter goodies, including a gigantic chocolate egg! If your child would like to take part, payment for the Golden Ticket can be made via the My Child at School or in cash at the academy office, where there is also a special box for tickets to be posted into. More tickets are available should you wish to increase your child's chance of winning! The deadline for Golden Tickets to be entered into the draw is Monday 1st April.

We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.
