It's been another wonderful week.
Our Year 6 classes recently had an engaging and educational experience during a workshop centred on insects and reptiles. The pupils were fascinated as they explored the diverse world of these creatures, learning about their unique adaptations and habitats. Hands-on activities allowed the children to observe and interact with live specimens, deepening their understanding of biodiversity and ecological balance. The workshop not only sparked curiosity and wonder but also provided valuable insights into the importance of these often-overlooked creatures in our ecosystems. It was a memorable and enriching experience that enhanced their scientific knowledge and appreciation for the natural world.
I am thrilled to share that we had the pleasure of hosting Mrs Biggenden, our Academies Director, and Mr Coulson, Principal of Leigh Academy Oaks, at our academy today. Their visit was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the incredible work our pupils and staff are doing every day. Both Mrs Biggenden and Mr Coulson were deeply impressed by several aspects of our academy. They praised the enthusiasm and depth of our pupils’ learning, noting how effectively our children articulate their understanding of various subjects. It was lovely to see them acknowledge the vibrant learning environment we have cultivated here. Additionally, they commended our teachers for their skillful sequencing and facilitation of lessons. Their feedback highlighted the dedication and expertise that our staff bring to their roles, ensuring that each pupil has the opportunity to thrive.
This recognition is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our entire academy community. It reinforces the positive impact of our collective efforts and inspires us to continue striving for excellence.

For children and young people, low-quality sleep can become a serious issue. It has been theorised that poor sleep can have a significant impact on children's brain development, affecting them for the rest of their lives. A healthy and consistent sleeping pattern, therefore, is incredibly important for children and young people's wellbeing.
With the stresses and distractions that can present themselves to youngsters, it can be tricky to ensure that they are in the best mindset to wind down in the evenings for the rejuvenating rest they need. The right approach, however, can give them a better chance of cultivating a healthy sleeping pattern and the guide below has some practical tips on helping them to achieve exactly that.

We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to the Key Stage Lead and/or Mrs Neame, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.
