I hope this message finds you well and that you all had a refreshing Christmas break. As we embark on this new term, it is wonderful to witness the children returning with a sense of enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. We began this week with a calm and purposeful start, which I believe is particularly important after a period of festivities as it allows our pupils to ease into their routines, fostering a conducive environment for learning.
As we step into January, we are experiencing increasingly cold temperatures and icy weather which can sometimes present challenges but also offers opportunities for excitement and exploration. I encourage all pupils and families to dress warmly and take precautions during this season to ensure that we are keeping ourselves safe.
One of our key commitments as an academy is on inclusion and this was reinforced during our recent staff development day on Monday 6th January. All staff members participated in training provided by the Autism Education Trust. This training has equipped our team with further invaluable insights and strategies to support pupils with autism effectively. We firmly believe that every child deserves a nurturing environment that acknowledges individual needs, and this training has helped us to continue to fulfil that commitment.
In line with our dedication to safeguarding we are excited to introduce weekly workshops led by Mrs Carter through which pupils will have the opportunity to engage in discussions about keeping themselves and others safe, both physically and emotionally. Each class will participate in this programme on a rotational basis. This week, Year 2 took part in an interactive session where they talked about people who are important to them. These workshops encourage our children to think critically about their surroundings and arm them with the knowledge they need to make safe choices.
As we progress through this term, I am confident that our academy community will continue to grow and thrive. Collaboration between teachers, parents, carers and pupils is vital in creating a nurturing atmosphere where all learners can flourish.
Thank you for your ongoing support and here's to a productive and fulfilling term ahead!

We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to the Key Stage Lead and/or Mrs Neame, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.
