Established in 1884 and nestled cozily on the southeast side of the Wind River mountain range, Lander is the county seat of Fremont County and is known best for its world-class hunting & fishing, recreational opportunities, entertainment, and our one of a kind 4th of July Celebration.

The Lander Volunteer Fire Department (LVFD) provides emergency services to the city of Lander and its more than 7500 residents. The department is comprised of up to 45 volunteer members and a full-time Administrator.
