Repairing Friendships

Even Besties have disagreements

Sorry to hear you're struggling with one or more of your friendships. Friendships are just like any other kind of relationship; full of ups and down. Sometimes things are going well and sometimes it can get really confusing. Words are said and actions are done but you both have to decide if you want to continue your friendship and want to work at it, or, if you choose to let it go. But don't be mean if the other person chooses to let it go; it'll hurt but we have to love our friends enough to let them make their own choice to continue friendship or not.

Friendship Tips

Working on your friendship

Step One: Control Your Emotions

Step Two: When You're Both Ready, Talk to Each other One-on-One

Step Three: Take Turns Actively Listening and Speaking

Step Four: Ask Questions instead of Blaming Each Other

Step 5: Be More Interested in Understanding the Other Person vs Being Understood

Step 6: Determine if You're Able to Solve the Problem or if You Need Help

Step 7: Learn to Apologize and/or Forgive Each Other. It Doesn't Mean that one Person was more Right or Wrong, but You Make the Choice to not hold on to the Hurt.

Step 8: Ask each Other if They are Willing to Work on Your Friendship, if You Need a Break, or if you want to go your separate ways.
