Controling Change
There are many things we cannot control in life and at times we become overwhelmed with change and an endless list of things to do, learn, turn-in, meetings, family, friends, and all the rest.
One of the ways you can "control" the uncontrollable is to simply give yourself a moment to recognize how you're feeling and letting it be an indicator to you. You can recognize, okay, I've feeling fearful and stressed worried about how I am going to succeed and how my students will succeed with distance learning. Instead of becoming overwhelmed and ineffective. Ask yourself, what you can control to make the most of the situation. What knowledge or skill sets do you need? How can you build your skill set? Go about making a list for yourself on how to can face your fears in a proactive way. What people do you have around you who can assist you? Make a list of priorities. What is the most important thing you need? What do you need to do first? second? third?
The simple act of writting down your goals, acknowledging your emotions and thoughts about it, and creating action steps for yourself; can reduce anxiety. You can perform this simple practice with anything you are struggling with.
