This help children to identify anger. It teaches them that it is not ok to hurt or be mean to others just because you are angry or upset. This teaches you other ways to deal with what you are feeling.

Children learn empathy through caring and helping. It is important for them to be able to identify what they are feeling and to name their feelings. Accidents do happen and that's when we say it was an accident and I did not mean to do it and to make sure the person is ok.
Children need to be able to identify strong feelings. When children have strong feelings, which are uncomfortable feelings they need to talk to an adult. Children need to be able to calm down by using different techniques.
There are two kinds of self-talk, postive and negative. Positive has a positive emotinal effect, while negative has a negative emotional effect. Positive self- talk helps to build confidence. Positive self talk can also help children to calm down.
This helps children to identify with many different feelings. It teaches them the words, feeling and expression that goes with it.
Children have strong feelings about what they want and may have strong feelings of disappointment about what they don't get. We need to teach them they don't always get what they want and teach them coping skills as to how to manage these feelings by using ways to calm down.
Identifying feelings is an important part of managing emotions. Calm down techniques can aid in helping with these feelings.
Encourage children to identify feelings, name feelings, teach calm down strategies and when it is a uncomfortable feeling, talk to an adult.
