A School Counselor is a trusted adult kids can come talk to if they are having a hard time. The main job of a School Counselor is to make sure that all students are safe, happy and feel connected to their school community.
Counselor Duties:
Individual counseling/Group Counseling
Classroom Presentations
Frequent face to face check ins with foster students
Parent trainings
Attendance/ACT
Develop Behavior Contracts
Assist in creating and implementing BIP's for GE students
Liasion betweeen school district and community agencies
PBIS
Attend SST's
Confidentiality
Whatever we talk about stays between us unless:
Someone is hurting you
You want to hurt someone else
You are hurting yourself
