PBIS

Each month, our teachers evaluate their students for certain character qualities. It's important to recognize the whole student, in addition to their academic successes. You can see how this list reflects our values as a school and as young citizens. If you click on the Character Focus list, you can see our specific winners in each class for the year.

Getting ready to launch Part 1: PBIS is a proactive approach we use to improve school safety and promote positive behavior. The staff loves to discuss ways to reward our students for the wonderful things they do every day!

Getting ready to launch PBIS part 2: This first grade student is missing something on her wrist...but not for much longer! Soon all the kids will be sporting a bracelet that will remind them to R.U.L.E. the school! Do you remember how to teach your student to R.U.L.E?

Getting ready to launch PBIS part 3: This poster explains what the students do to RULE the school. We love to reward them when they RULE! We explain to our students what specific behavior is expected from them in every location on campus. That way, they can be rewarded for their positive behavior.

We print and cut hundreds of these every week. When we see your students being responsible, respectful, and safe, we reward them with money to spend at the Monarch Store every Friday.

Yes! These Monarchs are wearing their physical reminders to R.U.L.E. the halls, the classroom, the playground, the cafeteria. Everywhere they go, they can refer to the matrix on the walls that tell them the positive ways they can be rewarded. They love to wear these every day!

Every Friday, our students come into the Monarch Market to spend their PBIS money that they have earned through doing positive behaviors all week. The older grades purchase similar items online.

Some of them have learned to save up their money to buy the big ticket items in the back like books, purses, and board games. They are learning money management as well!

Now that the kids have learned a lot about PBIS, it's time to refresh their memory in this new 2023 year. We will start with a "refresh" of what is expected and Spirit Week!
