We encourage you to watch this quick 4 minute video to familiarize yourself with the Canvas browser interface and learn how to access all of your child's courses and grades.
Once logged in, it is also recommended to review your account's notification settings and configure notifications in a way which works best for you. These options can only be adjusted while logged into Canvas through a web browser.
Clicking the Login button on the school website will still take you to Canvas login page.
Click on Parent Login button.
Your parent account is already partially created for you. You will just need to set a new password. Click on Forgot Password to begin this process.
IMPORTANT: Please DO NOT CLICK the "Parent of a Canvas User?" link—this will not associate you with your child(ren) correctly.
This username is the same username you use for My Backpack.
After entering your username, click on Request Password.

An email will be sent to the address the school has on record for your account. Click on Click here to set a new password to continue.
If you have not received an email after 30 minutes, please check your spam folder. The message will be sent from "notifications@instructure.com".
Create a new password for your Canvas account. This password will be specific to Canvas and will not change you login information for My Backpack.
Use your LCDS username and new password to login.
The first time logging in, you will likely be prompted to agree to the Canvas Acceptable Use Policy. Select the checkbox next to "I agree" and click Submit.
You should now see the Canvas Dashboard with all of your child's courses.
We also encourage you to review your account's notification settings and configure notifications in a way which works best for you.
