Apple services and apps for education are built with the same integrated approach to privacy that’s fundamental to the design of all Apple hardware, software, and services.
The SDoL Technology Department created Managed Apple IDs for instructors and students to use for educational purposes. Managed Apple IDs are unique to your institution and separate from Apple IDs that you can create for yourself. Your Managed Apple ID is associated with the SDoL domain. Unlike personal Apple IDs, IT administrators manage the services that Managed Apple ID can access and are restricted to disable purchasing of any paid or free apps or media. Managed Apple IDs also include 200GB of iCloud storage.

CIPA imposes certain requirements on schools or libraries that receive discounts for Internet access or internal connections through the E-rate program – a program that makes certain communications services and products more affordable for eligible schools and libraries. In early 2001, the FCC issued rules implementing CIPA and provided updates to those rules in 2011.
