Watch a recorded production of the show!
Auditions on Zoom. Cast members in quaratnine. Masks at rehearsal. A socially-distanced set design. Live video-switching. When we first started brainstorming ideas for this year's play, we knew that we wanted it to be a refreshment for kids and adults of all ages after a difficult year. We kept asking, "What can we do this year through a screen that we couldn't normally do on a stage?" The answer? Magic. While we miss having our audience physically present with us, we're so excited to bring magic to life on the screen as we head to our Rockin' Wiard Camp! I'm so incredibly proud of the resilience and creativity of this cast and crew. With every obstacle that's come along, they've never responded with, "No, we can't" but instead have stepped up to say, "We'll find another way." These students have worked so incredibly hard and have sacrificed so much. Our actors do an incredible job of pulling off the magic on stage, but without our amazing production team and the contribution of so many others, this production would NOT have happened. Let's meet the magic makers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to pull this off...
-Natalie Nolt, Director
Thank you, Wiz Chery, for being our film director and props director! None of this would have happened without YOU! You are the perfect fit for this role & have stepped up in so many different ways!
Thank you, Wiz Eby-Good, for creating magic out of nothing! All of the sets, guitars, green-screen stools, and everything are simply incredible! You are incredibly creative & hard-working!
Thank you, Wiz Gonzalez, for all of your help with the livestream and sound stuff. I have no idea what you do, but I do know that you make it look so easy & effortless!
Wiz Ciceri brings all of the characters to life through the amazing costumes! Thank you for all of Brooke's costumes too!
Wiz Watson, all of this was your fault. Your "Wouldn't a livestreamed movie type set thing be cool?" idea really took off...and then so did you! Thanks for your continued support & expertise.
After Arrison's initial idea of wizards & potions, you two took off with it and came to so many Zoom meetings. I hope you loved seeing your ideas come to life!
Thank you to Dr. Rau & SDOL for permitting this production during this pandemic. We do not take your support for granted & are beyond grateful for the chance to perform. Thanks to the Campus Admin. team for all of your support! Thank you to our custodians who have had to deal with us being here until late each night. Thank you to the 8th period stage production class for designing and painting such an incredible set! Thank you also to the wonderful costume assistants! Daniela Ciceri led the charge, but Amy Mozingo designed the hats, and Kristen Anderson, Susan Dodge, and Carol Eby-Good assisted along the way. Thanks to Alex Stan, aka "Stanimal," for rockin' out on his guitar so that Augusta could have some really cool tunes. Thanks to Anyali for loving video-switching so much in the morning show that she wanted to take on 8 screens. I couldn't be prouder of you! Thanks to Wiz Carrie Pyfer for your continued encouragement & sarcasm & for always knowing exactly what we need before we ask. You and Veda are welcome any time! We continue to feel your love & support from afar! Thank you to all of the parents who drove back & forth so many times to pick up their kids from late rehearsals & for giving your kid the chance to shine in this production. Thank you to ALL of our family & friends who have put up with so much wizard talk & spells & "medeis mutatis-es" along the way. This year has certainly been one for the record books, but it has been a beautiful journey! Thank you to EVERYONE for making the magic happen!
