Students will be able to have outdoor recess and frequent outdoor breaks throughout the day. While at recess, we will have our playground separated into three sections. Our class will only play and interact with the students in our class. We will rotate sections of the playground throughout the week. Students are not able to bring outdoor toys from home. We will have balls available that are being cleaned daily. Students are not able to bring electronic devices outdoors.
Students will be seated at their assigned lunch table by teacher. They will walk in and wait in line to get their lunch. Campus is open for visitors during lunch. Please know other students cannot sit with you and your child. We will be washing our hands and sanitizing before and after lunch as well.
Students will be required to read their AR books for 20 minutes every night. We will provide each student with a reading log that will be checked every morning. The students will answer a question each night. There will be handwriting/cursive homework as well. If there is anything extra that is sent home with your child, it will be labeled ‘homework’, if it is not labeled ‘homework’, it is not required. We will provide a monthly calendar for parents to sign daily.
This year’s dismissal procedures have changed, please read below.
Dismissal will be INDOORS. The staff outside will call for your child and the inside staff will send them out.
Car riders- You will HAVE to have your school issued dismissal tag. Your oldest student will bring these home. Each student will be issued two blue tags. These MUST be in your window in order to pick the student up.
If you need more than two dismissal tags, you will be required to get these from the front office.
Parents who walk up will be required to show ID & wait in a line.
We are trying to develop a more safe and efficient dismissal procedure. Please bare with us as we work out the kinks.
Bus riders will need a yellow bus tag to get on the bus everyday. We will provide these, please make sure the students bring these back to school daily.
