Hello and welcome to my PDI (Program for Dyslexia Intervention) website. I am Terri Stubbs and this is my 28th year teaching. I have been a part of the LISD family for the last 19 years and have taught SPED, Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade.
I am here to help. Please reach out if you need ANYTHING!
The Program for Dyslexia Intervention (PDI) consist of two parts:
Reading by Design- This is a systematic and multi-sensory phonics based approach aligned with research-based practices for developing literacy. I follow an intensive, explicit and cumulative design for remediation of reading and writing skills for grades K - 5th. This is taught Monday-Thursday.
Read Naturally - is a research-proven reading intervention that individualizes instruction and improves reading proficiency. It’s a web based program that implements audio support and student tracking to improve fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. This program is used each Friday.
The SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Daytime Emmy®-nominated and award-winning children’s literacy website, Storyline Online®, streams videos featuring celebrated actors reading children’s books alongside creatively produced illustrations. Readers include Oprah Winfrey, Chris Pine, Kristen Bell, Rita Moreno, Viola Davis, Jaime Camil, Kevin Costner, Lily Tomlin, Sarah Silverman, Betty White, Wanda Sykes and dozens more.
Storyline Online receives over 100 million views annually from children all over the world.
Reading aloud to children has been shown to improve reading, writing and communication skills, logical thinking and concentration, and general academic aptitude, as well as inspire a lifelong love of reading.
Storyline Online is available 24 hours a day for children, parents, caregivers and educators worldwide. Each book includes supplemental curriculum developed by a credentialed elementary educator, aiming to strengthen comprehension and verbal and written skills for English-language learners.
