The campus was originally opened up as Hanna Springs Intermediate School in 1996. Lampasas ISD restructured in 2009, when the campus became Hanna Springs Elementary.
The school's name, Hanna Springs, comes from the near by natural springs that have a long lineage of medicinal values that was named after John Hanna whom aquired the land in 1867.
Behind our campus is this beautiful piece of Lampasas that includes Campbell Park, Hanna Springs Sculpture Garden, Hanna Springs Pool, and Cooper Springs Nature Preserve that Sulphur Creek and Hanna Springs both run through. Still today, the springs have a pull of tourists from all over and locals alike. It is truly one of the gems of our little town!
Being that the campus is so close to these amazing landmarks, Hanna Springs students get to partake in walking field trips throughout the school year to personally experience the beauty that surrounds our campus. It is an amazing opportunity for the Hanna Family!

The Counselor's Role for the Hanna Family
At Hanna Springs Elementary, the counselor works with students individually, in small groups, and through classroom guidance to support each student through their academic, personal, social, and career development. Mrs. Brown collaborates with administrators, teachers, parents and the community to ensure that the whole child is supported for their specific needs by establishing relationships and building a steadfast support system.
Leadership and Advocacy
Partnering with the leadership team of Hanna Springs Elementary allows for the Comprehensive School Counseling Program (CSCP) to be implemented with fidelity alongside the goals of the campus. As a team, consistent reflection is key to maintaining relevance in order to meet the diverse needs of the students. This reflection includes individual student advocacy and persistent consideration of the daily happenings within the campus.
Leadership and diligent advocacy by Mrs. Brown within the school district allows for the needs and betterment of our individual campus CSCP but also the district initiatives pertaining to school counseling programs throughout LISD.
As a professional school counselor, Mrs. Brown began taking on roles within the profession to further advocate for the essential role of school counselors in every school. After a devastating tragedy impacted her town and campus, Mrs. Brown partnered with the Educational Region Center (ESC) to present on crisis response for schools and their communities. This opportunity allowed her to highlight the vital support school counselors provide—not only as advocates and mental health professionals, but also as key resources in times of crisis.
Further advocacy opportunities have arisen through beta testing time-tracking tools, volunteering on the Counselor Advocacy Board through the ESC, and serving as an advocate for Region 12 rural school counselors with the Texas Education Agency.
Leadership Team includes: Ms. Duhon- Principal, Mrs. Curtis- Asst. Principal, Mrs. Mulcahy- Asst. Principal, Mrs. Brown- Counselor, Mrs. Hamrick- Instructional Specialist, and Mrs. Johnson- RTI Coordinator.
